The father-son team of Ric and Lincoln O’Barry is currently in Taiji, Japan, documenting the season’s first dolphin hunt, during which hundreds of these marine mammals will be slaughtered or captured alive to be sold into captivity.

In addition to to heading up the Dolphin Project, you may remember Ric and Lincoln from the award-winning 2009 documentary, The Cove, in which the duo and their team snuck into an isolated cove to expose shocking, bloody instances of animal abuse, while at the same time bringing awareness to the issue of mercury poisoning.
